Friday has arrived and so has the Dell Streak for AT&T. Unfortunately, the Dell Streak is shipping with Android 1.6 which there is no excuse for this old firmware to be shipping on such a new device. While this Android 2.1 update leak is currently for UK users only, we can only hope that someone has already started working on somehow getting this for the AT&T version which is launching today. Thanks to the users over at Modaco’s forums, the Android 2.1 build is here waiting to turn your new Streak into a happy Streak, and the users over at Modaco’s forums are not finding any issues with this build so far. Download the file HERE.
1. Rename the .pkg file to update.pkg
2. Place the update.pkg file on the root of your microSD card.
3. Shut your device off.
4. While holding the up & down volume buttons, turn your device back on.
5. Once in recovery mode, select the 2nd option and wait.
6. Once your device reboots, enjoy Éclair on your Dell Streak.
